Mitta Valley
Dartmouth – One day

The best summer white water rafting in South Eastern Australian is experienced on the Alpine streams near the township of Mitta Mitta in NE Victoria during the months of October to May.

Every day on the river is a new adventure, even for seasoned guides.  River conditions are constantly changing and having access to three different river trips, all in one place, ensures that we can provide you with the best experience on the day.  River volume is the key ingredient to awesome rafting and we will draw on over 40 years of whitewater experience to ensure that your day is maximised by choosing the best possible river section.

All preparation for these fantastic summer journeys are taught to you on the morning of your trip, by our experienced guides making sure you are thoroughly prepared for your descent.

River shuttles, equipment, guides and lunch are all catered for, just bring your sense of adventure for the great outdoors and come along on a trip not to be forgotten this summer.

White water rafting
challenges include:

  • High volume big boat sharks tooth river rafting.
  • Technical sports rafting on the Snowy Gorge.
  • Or the ever escalating challenges of sports rafting on the Lower Mitta Mitta River which includes the class 4 decents of sharks tooth part 1 to 3 and corkscrew rapids

Every episode will provide its own adrenalin rush, awesome scenery and a taste of Australian wildlife.

Episode 1.

When water is released from Dartmouth Dam, the river becomes deep and fast flowing with big waves similar to the large volume rivers of New Zealand or Canada.  We start by preparing our biggest rafts capable of running the high volume challenges presented by sharks tooth, roller coaster and the weir. An optional 7m rock jump, a swim or two and rafting challenges to cool you from the summer heat, will no doubt fuel an addiction to rafting.

 Episode 2.

The personal challenge of sports rafting the Snowy Gorge, you will tackle over 40 rapids including, zig zag, Snowy Drop and come to terms with the Terminator.  Beat the summer heat, paddling a pristine alpine stream, swimming the pools and maybe a few small rapids.  The river gorge is surrounded by native Australian bush, granite boulders and great camp sites.

 Episode 3.

Sports rafting the awesome technical rapids of the Lower Mitta Mitta, where each rapid increases in intensity as you descend the river with the highlights being your descent of roller coaster, Shark tooth part 1 to 3 and the biggest challenge “corkscrew” at the end of the day.  Trust us this is nothing like opening a bottle of wine!!

Or perhaps double the fun by challenging yourself to the Mitta Mitta Snowy Gorge double shot and take on 2 episodes over 2 fun-filled days.
